I have been cast as Athena, Greek goddess of war and wisdom, in a very exciting new, devised piece of theatre entitled “Furyus”. “Furyus” weaves Aeschylus’ The Oresteia to depict a 21st century debate from a women’s point of view about the perpetuation of gender-based violence and the oppression of women. Using song, dance, tableaux, spoken word, and classical text, we seek to grapple with Roe V. Wade overturning and why the oppression of women ever began.
We go up next March, and are undergoing script devising, the rehearsal process, and crowdfunding mission(s) this winter. If you are “FURYUS” at the undermining of female equity in society, we’d love your support.
You can find us on Instagram @OVATE_company, and we are visible on FB under the group name “Ojai Valley Artists Theatre Ensemble.” Here’s a rehearsal photo, as well as our crowdfunding link if you feel so inclined to help support the making of new theatre.
Or if you’d prefer to pass on our work and message to friends to spread the word, we would greatly appreciate that as well.
Thank you in advance! ❤️🔥❤️
